Our 2024 Coaches Appreciation Breakfast Was A Blessing!

On Saturday, May 25th, over 75 coaches and athletic directors gathered together to celebrate and fellowship at Christian Tabernacle Church in Southfield, Michigan.

Glynn Blackwell led an outstanding program that featured two outstanding speakers. Pastor Joel Gregory from Linked Up Church in Atlanta, Georgia and current Passing Game Coordinator/Inside Linebackers Coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Larry Foote provided encouragement and inspiration on the theme of "Hero Makers".

This theme comes from book of the same title by Dave Ferguson. Michigan FCA staff have read this book and are now adopting the principles as they seek to "make heroes" of Christ out of coaches and athletes. This is based on 2 Timothy 2:2, "What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

We want all the coaches and athletes we serve to know they are a part of a bigger team dedicated to making disciples and impacting the world of sport. It was amazing to see the legacy that some amazing coaches have left behind by transforming the lives of those they coached and mentored.  Thank you to the Christian Tabernacle staff, Administrative Assistant Audra Brockway, Field Ambassador Lynette Kincaide and our empowered board members Bob Wingfield, Carm Bambrick, and Frantzie Beaudry who took care of many tasks to make the morning special!
